Welcome to East Grinstead Swimming Club

 1912 - 2013

Welcome to EGSC, one of the oldest swimming clubs in the country. Last year we celebrated our centenary by swimming 100 miles in 50 hours on East Grinstead High Street!

The club is friendly and competitive and has over 250 regular swimmers with ages ranging from 6 to 50 years old.

We place great emphasis on the teaching of swimming and the development of good technique. Swimmers are divided into ability groups starting with the pre-squad teaching group, progressing through to the various competitive squads, mini, bronze and senior.

From the age of 10+, all club swimmers are actively encouraged to enter galas and club members regularly compete in galas at the local, county, regional and in some cases national level.

In addition to individual galas, the club participates in the Sussex League and this year secured promotion to Division One following three emphatic wins during the 2012 season.

The club is always looking for new members to join our club and if you are interested, we would urge you to attend one of our regular assessment sessions which can be arranged by contacting our Membership Secretary.

Swimming for fun       Swimming for fitness        Swimming to compete

ANNOUNCING DETAILS OF THE EGSC SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIPS:

FRIDAY 14TH JUNE 2013

This event is for ALL club members regardless of which squad you normally train in.
You will only race against people who swim at a similar level so if you've never entered before
don't worry, you won't be racing against anyone in senior squad (unless you are fast enough of course!)
This is a fun event - come and have a go - you might surprise yourself there are lots of people to show you where you need to be and when.
If you are a squad swimmer, you are expected to compete!
